This lecture presents a systematic methodology for achieving predictable outcomes in endodontic re-treatment. Endodontic failure, often a source of clinical disappointment, can be effectively managed through a disciplined, phased protocol.
The presentation will delineate a comprehensive approach, commencing with precise etiological diagnosis utilizing advanced imaging to identify the definitive cause of failure. Subsequently, a structured decision-making framework for clinical execution will be detailed, encompassing access refinement, the negotiation of previous obstructions, and comprehensive disinfection with the aid of appropriate mechanical NiTi files.
The critical roles of contemporary technologies, including ultrasonics and biocompatible obturation materials, will be emphasized as essential components for success. The ultimate objective of this lecture is to provide attendees with a transferable and reliable protocol to confidently diagnose, manage, and resolve endodontic failures, thereby ensuring predictable clinical results and the long-term retention of the natural dentition.
